In this episode, I visit Chundu Island - a private escape on the Zambezi River, just upstream from the mighty Victoria Falls. Set within Zambezi National Park, Chundu offers a mix of tranquility and adventure, with easy access to one of the world’s most iconic waterfalls. I spent a few days soaking up the island’s quiet rhythm while diving into the experiences on offer — game drives, island walks, a river cruise, kayaking downstream, and of course, a visit to Victoria Falls itself. The setting is stunning. Each suite faces the river, and the island feels cut off from the world in the best possible way. One moment you’re gliding past hippos at sunset with a G&T in hand, the next, you’re dining under the stars. This episode gives a real sense of what it’s like to stay on Chundu Island - including the logistics of getting there, a few short interviews, and some helpful context for anyone planning a trip.
