My experience of Posterior Cervica surgery, which was a successful one, and the recovery. It may provide useful information for people who suffer from cervical stenosis, and provide answers to the questions they may ask. Questions like is it surgical? should I wait? Should it be anterior or posterior? The surgical method is CENTERPIECE One-door technique. With key words "Laminectomy" and "Laminoplasty", quite some videos can be found in YouTube, but there is a tendency of being over-optimistic about the recovery speed (as out-patient) for those illustrations prepared by the hospitals and institutions. Here are a few good Youtube links about this type of surgery (Laminoplasty, NOT Laminectomy ), 1. 3D Visual illustration of the operation: • Lumbar Laminectomy and Fusion Presented by... 2. PS: To answer the question of "is your nerves remain unprotected after opening the laminar", I further studied my surgery report and looked up "CENTERPIECE" One-door technique method. the answer is the laminar was not removed, - two troughs were cut in laminar from C3 to C7 to make it become a 'door', the slot on the right side as the "hinge" while the left side was pried open to release the pressure on the pinched nerve, an the gap was braced with titanium piece, with both ends fixed screws. in my case even the slots are from C3-C7, the fixations were only at C3,C5 and C7, so it was not for every joints .
