Here are some patches made with the CZ-1 synth. You can hear the difference when you switch to layer mode. It is then possible to obtain rich and complex sounds. Effects added to the internal chorus : stereo delay + reverb (ZOOM MS-70-CDR) The CASIO CZ-1 is the last and the most powerful of the CZ series. It has 8 voices polyphony with 2 oscillators, split and layer mode like its predecessors the CZ-5000 and CZ-3000. It adds to that a dynamic keyboard with aftertouch, a faster processor making editing more fluid, the naming of presets as well as advanced MIDI functions. Its phase-distortion digital synthesis technique is a derivative of classic analog synthesis. It has many limitations compared to today's standards. It nevertheless has advantages such as ease of programming as well as a unique sound color.
