Heavy rain affected southern England and Wales this morning and will spread into Northern Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland through the afternoon. It turns breezy, with a risk of heavy, even thundery downpours following behind across southwestern areas. A southerly wind keeps temperatures on the mild side for the time of year, reaching 9–10°C, which is above average.
