Over its nominal 2-year mission lifetime, NASA’s SPHEREx will complete four surveys of the entire sky and thus provide a treasure trove of information about stars and galaxies near and far. In this talk, Dr. Jordan Mirocha, a Senior NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, provides an overview of the mission and focuses specifically on how its novel design will enable a powerful new census of the galaxy population in our universe.
