One system that is commonly used to try and improve distance control for these mid-distance wedge shots is "THE CLOCK SYSTEM", first made famous by Dave Pelz in his Short Game Bible book published in the nineties. This CLOCK SYSTEM uses the lead arm as a reference for how far back to swing and matches that length of arm travel to the corresponding time on a clock face. Simple! However, despite its simple (and logical) concept, many golfers found they were still hitting these wedge shots too inconsistently, and that's because there's a missing piece to this equation that was never discussed - SPEED.
