Such medications are: Aspirin; ibuprofen; naproxen sodium (Aleve); anticoagulant medications, such as warfarin and heparin. dabigatran, rivaroxaban and apixaban. and anti-platelet agents, such as clopidogrel. Some other medications can also affects clotting, they can damage small blood vessels. Such medications can be antibiotics Others can thin the skin and make it easier to bruise. For example topical or systemic corticosteroids. Less Common Causes: Liver Disease: Cirrhosis and other conditions can have an impact on liver function. Liver disease can affect blood clotting, which can increase the risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Vitamin Deficiencies: For example Deficiency of Vitamin C can cause easy bruising and bleeding Gums. Senile purpura Senile purpura is common among older adults, affecting around 10% of those aged over 50 years. It causes dark purple bruise-like lesions on the skin and is most likely to develop on the arms and hands.
