In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view from Aigle to Diablerets, Switzerland, in 4K/60 frames per second. Join us on the metre-gauge Aigle–Sépey–Les Diablerets railway (ASD), operated by Transports Publics du Chablais, as it climbs from the base of the Rhône Valley into the Swiss Alps. This 22.3 km line starts in Aigle (approx. 404 m above sea level) and rises nearly 753 m to reach Les Diablerets at 1,157 m—the final alpine destination. From the departure in Aigle, the train winds through vineyards and urban outskirts, passing steep terrains, forested slopes, tunnels, viaducts, and hairpin turns. It stops at several mountain-villages including Le Sépey. The line has a fairly steep maximum gradient of 60‰, but it is entirely adhesion-rail (no rack sections), which makes the ride even more striking as the train powers up on its own traction. Electrification has been 1500 V DC since opening. Trains run approximately once per hour from early morning until evening, giving both locals and visitors access to mountain landscapes, ski resorts, and hiking terrain. Throughout the journey, views shift from the plain of Aigle up to alpine meadows, wooded hillsides and snow-touched peaks near Les Diablerets.
