We wanted to make a video that explained the difference between a Nosler Ballistic Tip bullet, and Polymer Tipped Bullets. READ BELOW: The Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets have a Polymer tip, but are a non-bonded, rapid expansion hunting bullet. They are excellent for deer and antelope sized game, and with proper shot placement in the right calibers even good for elk hunting. They transfer a lot of energy to the animal's vitals and do a lot of damage quickly. Another little known fact... hunters who shoot Accubonds can likely also shoot the Ballistic Tip bullets without change in point of impact. We tested the 28 Nosler with 160 Gr Nosler Accubonds and 160 Gr Ballistic Tips. Both shot the same velocity (3260 FP/s average), had the same point of impact. Both bullets have the same .531 G1 Ballistic Co-Efficient, 1.385" overall projectile length and .283 Sectional Density The only difference is the Nosler Accubond is a bonded bullet - meaning the lead core is bonded to the jacket for slower, more controlled expansion. The Nosler Ballistic tip isn't bonded, so it expands more rapidly. Neither has a Cannelure or Band and both are Spitzer Boattails. No next time you can't find your favorite Nosler Accubonds, don't hesitate to switch up and shoot Ballistic Tips. Especially if you are hunting deer/antelope size game.
