How To: PROGRAM your BMW KEYS AT HOME (No More Dead Key Battery!)

Today, were programming a new key for my E46 wagon, and we'll be using an aftermarket key and also an AK90 programmer tool, both purchased from Amazon (linked below). The software for this procedure is free to download and use, and I'd say that anyone can do this at home! Some things to keep in mind, key placement in the tool is very important to providing a strong signal to programming your new key. Although this tool is compatible with most BMW keys, some EWS modules require an additional adapter to read the program and be able to program a key. I'll put some links below to the parts used in this videos, downloads for the software and drivers, and additional info from supporting Youtube videos that helped me understand this process. You can definitely save money programming your own keys at home, so best of luck and don't be discouraged if at first you don't succeed.
