I used walnut veneer europly from Columbia forest products which is really nice but at $230 a sheet quite expensive. We priced out sofas from a Chinese manufacturer that came out to about $1,140 each when shipping was factored in for both the ocean voyage and trucking from port to our site. They were sturdy and well-made but the finishes were painted on and felt like a combination of plastic and MDF. They also are not flat packed so that reduced shipping efficiency. Our Sofas used much better material, and our cost break down was about $420 in materials which includes about 1.6 sheets of the plywood, screws, sandpaper, and finish. Once we started batching them out took about 16 hours each. I typically pay around $30 an hour so we were happy with the choice. This project doesn’t require a lot of tools and here are the key ones I used: Orbital sander: homedepot.sjv.io/EEe9bX Circular Saw homedepot.sjv.io/QjnJOz Drill and Driver homedepot.sjv.io/mOXJee Palm Router homedepot.sjv.io/RGn15y Kreg Pocket Hole Jig homedepot.sjv.io/XmndxM Follow us on Instagram: / benjaminuyeda For additional projects and information check out our website: http://www.homemade-modern.com/
