Trash to Treasure | $5 Goodwill Challenge | Summer 2019

Today I have a few Goodwill and yard sale finds to share with you that I transformed into useful and beautiful pieces. First I have a set of four chairs that I picked up from various places. In total I spent $2 on four wooden dining chairs. One was $1.99 from Goodwill. I found it's twin sitting lonely on the curb to be picked up for trash. The other two were a cranberry colored pair that a neighbor gave to me. My husband and I took turns painting the four chairs in an off white paint that I got on clearance at Lowe's. We used a paint gun to speed up the process (chairs are so time consuming to paint with a paint brush!). Next I fixed up a $3 dusty rose colored upholstered velvet chair. I got this one from a yard sale and made it useful again with some elbow grease and a pressure washer. Last, I had an interesting set of metal yard furniture.... A chair and 3 metal side tables that were in serious need of a paint job. My daughter tried her hand at spray painting (with a mask and gloves) and did an excellent job making these pieces look new again. In total I spent $4 for all four pieces! Woohoo! (yard sale find).
