#VPLOJanuaryContest I started filming this video ten months ago and completed animation a month or two later in infrequent work sessions. I posted a small section of the fight in the green room to participate in MindGame Studios' Quarantine Daze and titled the video to advertise its eventual full release. I quickly ran into issues with sound editing and I gave up on the project. It had been so long since I animated the film that I had lost faith in the quality of the animation. I rebranded the Quarantine Daze video to not give false hope to those who wanted to see the full film. Around two months ago, I started to enjoy sound editing and found an app (PowerDirector) that worked well and gave me a few extra tools to work with. I rediscovered this sci-fi zombie film and found a good music track to go with it. I had done some volume keyframing and experimenting for fun when I found out about VPLO Studio's zombie animation contest. The film I was already working on fit the theme so I decided to complete the sound design and release it for the contest. There are no explicit rules which stated that your entry needs to be created solely in January but I commented and asked on Instagram whether this entry would be acceptable. I never got an answer but would not complain if I was disqualified. Over the past month, I did the sound design, snow effects (snow elements filmed by me), and created a channel title card to tie the project together. TL;DR: I animated this project 10 months ago and finally did the sound effects recently to enter the VPLO January Contest.
