What is a Ectropion ?How to prevent and treat Ectropion? Urdu || Hindi

#Ectropion # Keratopathy #Dr. Manzoor Hussain Malik, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Al – Shifa Eye Hospital, Laser & Glaucoma Centre, Bahawal Pur, Pakistan, describes that Ectropion is outward turning ( rolling ) of the eyelid margin which may lead to exposure of the cornea, corneal dryness, corneal opacity, corneal ulceration and perforation. Causes of Ectropion are eyelid muscle weakness due to old age, skin tumor, skin scar ( due to any infection, Trauma or tumor removal ) and facial palsy leading to exposure Keratopathy. Some time excessive Ectropion accompanies with Evertion of punctum which leads to excessive watering from the eye. So, do not let the cornea being dry by treating earlier, by using artificial tears eye drops during day time and ointment at night removing the causes. Sometimes Tarsoraphy (joining of the eyelid margins) and eye lid surgery is required.
