I've been looking for at portable Oscilloscope for some time and now that I'm working from my home office every day (thanks to Covid-19), I miss having some of the test gear I have at home. So what can I expect from a handheld Oscilloscope and did I select a good one? tl;dr I'm pretty sure this one will do the job. It's not a huge benchtop scope, so it packs away easily and can measure all I need it to. It's not a 50Mhz scope though. 30Mhz is closer to the truth. Content: 00:00 How I went about finding something suitable 05:15 Unboxing and first impressions 09:39 Testing and comparing with a professional scope 15:04 Summary and final thoughts Update/addition May 19th 2020: I just received my 60Mhz Waveform Generator and the JDS6052S can only display the waveform correctly up to 30Mhz. If can detect the frequency up to 45Mhz, but the waveform display is useless beyond this. With 200MSPS, that is expected since you should have at least 5 times what you want to sample. So all in all - not too bad? I have posted still pictures from this and some requests on my Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/flashma... A full writeup is available at https://flashgamer.com/blog/comments/... Things I do not mention that I probably should have: In terms of triggers, it can trigger on either a rising or falling signal. It can trigger contiously or just single shot. Since it's not much memory, you can't really scroll very far in the signal, so you might have to capture several times and tweak settings in between.
