In this calming and creative session, we explore two beautiful tangles, Idoz and Frunky, first demonstrated individually on small Bijou tiles (2-inch by 2-inch squares) and then brought together on a white 3.5-inch (89mm) Zentangle tile to create a striking four-pointed, star-like design. Using white paper and black fine-tipped pens in various sizes, the composition builds slowly through confident linework and soft pencil shading that adds depth and dimension, making the artwork appear to lift off the page. Each petal-like extension of the Idoz star is bordered with thick, teardrop-shaped outlines and embellished with tiny dots, while the interior flows with the rhythmic curves of Frunky. To draw Idoz, begin with several overlapping teardrop (flux-like) shapes, often starting with one larger central form and building others around it; from the tips, extend aura lines that follow the curves, gently tucking them where shapes meet, then add optional inner lines, tiny orbs, or subtle texture before finishing with graphite shading where lines converge to create depth. Frunky is created by drawing tall, fescue-like curved strokes topped with small blackened cone or orb-shaped caps, then surrounding each form with parallel aura lines and filling the background with additional auras to build richness and flow. Both tangles are wonderfully simple to draw—yet their repeating linework creates an intricate, almost magical result. It’s proof that complexity can grow from calm, steady strokes. Remember: Zentangle isn’t about perfection. It’s not about galleries or getting it “right.” It’s about calming the mind, building focus, and allowing repetition to become therapy. If you’ve had a stressful week, tune into Riddhikulus Art Lounge and unwind—one calming stroke at a time. #zentangleart #zentangleinspiredart #drawingtherapy #penandinkart #artreels #creativeprocess #certifiedzentangleteacher #patterndrawing #idoz #frunky #yogaforthebrain
