Ein Feste Burg ist Unser Gott
Apologies for the noise from the pedal notes! The piece is played using Hauptwerk sample set Gt. Romantic v.2. Michael Gotthard Fischer (1773-1829 and not to be confused with J.F.K. Fischer), was born in Erfurt. He was a German organist and composer and a pupil of Johann Christian Kittel, one of the last students of J.S. Bach. Fischer succeeded as organist of Erfurt's Predigerkirche and also worked as organist at the Barfüsserkirche. From 1816, Fischer taught Basso continuo and organ at the teachers seminar in Erfurt. Due to his suffering from gout, he was forced to resign his post of organist in 1820. Fischer created numerous vocal and instrumental compositions for solo instruments, small and large ensembles, and his organ compositions primarily gained some fame.
