Back in 2020, 2012 NHRA Funny Car champion Jack Beckman would finish up his 2020 with 3 wins with Don Schumacher Racing, and would not return to the series after the 2020 season ended. While Jack Beckman was doing his elevator-preparing job and even doing an analyst work on FloRacing for the 2024 SCAG PRO Superstar Shootout race in Bradenton, he still had no plans to race in the NHRA. However, during the 2024 NHRA Richmond race, John Force would be in a scary crash during the first round of Funny Car would racing against Terry Haddock. Thankfully, John Force would survive the crash, but he would sit out for the rest of the 2024 season due a traumatic brain injury. A month after the accident, John Force Racing would hire Jack Beckman to race in John Force’s car for the rest of the 2024 season!
