SAATI LASER-HARLEQUIN XITRON RIP-SIM PROCESS SETUP Just as the title says, This short 16 min unedited video is specifically geared towards helping the art department save a sim process separation from photoshop straight into the Xitron RIP without a template. It does also cover (placing)the file in Adobe Illustrator or (importing) into Corel Draw. I'll note that while placing into Illustrator, the preview had previously NOT shown the colors of the file for me. During this Vid, I was pleasantly surprised when it placed the file as a pdf (in color). My short experiences with placing a Multi-Channel Photoshop PDF file in.ai was not previewing in color. That may or may not be a glitch having to do with savings files as photoshop pdf's but in either case, they are printable even if it does not preview correctly. I have not researched that yet but my guess is it's a preview preference while saving as PDF in the Photoshop SAVE window. If you do place a pdf file in .ai and it does not show the colors, you can preview the colors under SEPARATION PREVIEW to confirm the colors are going to print out as intended. In order to preview the colors in SEPARATION PREVIEW, the .ai files COLOR MODE must be in CMYK. Go to FILE, drag down to Document Color Mode and change from RGB to CMYK. Sep Preview only works in CMYK otherwise it will be greyed out and not selectable. Once there, just turn off the CMYK eyeballs since we are not printing with cmyk...and view each spot color listed in sep preview.
