In a bowl, cream the soft butter with the sugar and vanilla extract. 2. Add the sugar and mix. 3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing each for about 30 seconds. 4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, and alternately fold it into the butter-sugar mixture with the milk until a smooth batter forms. 5. Leave two-thirds of the batter in the bowl as the vanilla portion. To the remaining third, add the cocoa powder, 2 tbsp milk, and the melted chocolate. Mix well. 6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat). Grease a 19 cm diameter cake pan and dust with flour, or line it with parchment paper. 7. Begin by spreading a layer of the vanilla batter in the prepared cake pan. Follow with a layer of the chocolate batter. 8. Repeat this process until both batters are used up, finishing with a layer of vanilla batter. 9. Bake the cake on the middle rack of the preheated oven for about 45-55 minutes. 10.
