"My Thoughts On": Fontana Lake

Fontana Lake is located in southwest North Carolina in the Appalachian Mountains. It’s the southern border of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It’s also the deepest lake in the state of North Carolina, and it has lots of tributaries and little coves. It was made from a dam that was used to produce electricity to build aircraft during World War 2. In doing so, it created submerged ghost towns like Proctor and Judson. It’s also a contributing factor to the Road to Nowhere which I have another video about. The drive in is beautiful, as you can imagine. Mountains, rivers, scenic roadstops. Onyx and I ended up staying a bit over a week. We were just having so much fun exploring the hiking trails and nearby Fontana Village. Overall, this was another great adventure in the Appalachian Mountains. Onyx and I really enjoyed our stay at the Cable Cove Campground nearby. Although next time I’ll bring a fishing pole.
