Kusaha is the name of the place in Nepal where the breach in the mighty river Koshi had taken place in the year 2008 affecting a large no. of populace mostly from Bihar state of India in the Koshi region. The breach took place on 18th August 2008 and was timely rebuilt on 30th January 2009 before the start of the rainy season. The embankment rebuilting's giant task was achieved under the leadership of Mr. Bijendra Prasad Yadav, then Water Resources Minister of Bihar and Mr. Ajay Nayak, then Secretary of the department of WRD.It can be regarded as the technical wonder of the time which saved lacs of population from drowning. The Chief Minister of Bihar Mr. Nitish Kumar rightly expressed his satisfaction over the work done and the technological feats achieved in this field by the engineers of the State of Bihar.
