The Curse of La Llorona: Linda Cardellini Interview If you're a horror fan, you're going to want to keep an eye on director Michael Chaves. His feature directorial debut, The Curse of La Llorona, first hits theaters this weekend, but he's already got a major project lined up next; he's directing The Conjuring 3. As you'll see in La Llorona, Chaves has a real eye for crafting scares and has absolutely no trouble establishing an eerie atmosphere that well suits the The Conjuring series.  La Llorona takes place in the 1970s and stars Linda Cardellini as Anna, a social worker and mother of two who winds up crossing paths with The Weeping Woman, La Llorona. In life, she drowned her own children in a jealous rage. Now, as a horrifying apparition, La Llorona preys on children, desperate to replace her own, and she has her sights set on Anna's family. With The Curse of La Llorona hitting the big screen nationwide on April 19th, I got the chance to sit down with the team behind the film including Chaves, Cardellini, Raymond Cruz and Patricia Velasquez. They revealed the very first thing to ever scare them as kids, what makes Chaves a standout director, what it was like taking a cue from The Conjuring mastermind James Wan, and more!
