Protesters blocking road STORYLINE: Relatives, friends and supporters of hostages held in Gaza protested outside Israel's military headquarters in Tel Aviv Sunday, while the War Cabinet was reportedly meeting, and as efforts to close wide gaps between Israel and Hamas in pursuit of a cease-fire continued. The protesters blocked the road sporadically and called for an immediate deal to release the hostages. "It's 121 days too much for them being in Gaza...They're not going to survive if they're going to stay one day more," said Ifat Calderon, the aunt of hostage Ofer Calderon. Hamas still holds dozens of the roughly 250 hostages taken in the attack, after more than 100 were released during a one-week truce in November. Those releases were in exchange for 240 Palestinian prisoners. Hamas has said it won't release any more hostages until Israel ends its offensive. It also demands the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners. Netanyahu has publicly ruled out both demands. Hamas is expected to respond to the latest cease-fire offer in the coming days.
