One of the deadliest pandemics to ever hit the world was the Black Death. This hit Britain in the 14th century for the first time, however over the centuries the Bubonic Plague kept coming around the haunt the people of England. In 1665, a particularly devastating outbreak of the plague came around and it ravished London with such severity, to the point that around 100,000 people were killed. This became known as the Great Plague of London. This particular outbreak struck badly, and there were so many deaths that there was a need to dig Plague Pits desperately as bodies were piling up on the streets. The Plague Pits quickly themselves became full, and people did not know what to do. However we can compare some of the ways in which the people of London dealt with the plague, and how the world has dealt with the modern day pandemic. It's interesting to consider a number of similarities. So join us today as we look at, 'The Great Plague Of London.' Remember to support, please subscribe.
