Clara Barbier Serrano, the 2020 recipient of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation x Community Jameel scholarship at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London, sings ‘Sous le ciel de Paris’ live under the Eiffel Tower on a golden evening. Written by Hubert Giraud and Jean Dréjac and performed by Jean Bretonnière in the eponymous 1951 film by Julien Duvivier, ‘Sous le ciel de Paris’ has been recorded by Juliette Gréco (1951), Anny Gould (1951), Édith Piaf (1954) and Yves Montand (1964). The Andrea Bocelli Foundation x Community Jameel Scholarship was launched in 2019 to support students at the opera studio of the RCM, one of the world’s leading conservatoires. The scholarship is awarded on merit and need. Clara was the inaugural scholar and graduated in 2022.
