IAA 2015: The Highlights - English

The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show was once again chock full of new ideas. Here’s a summary of just some of the most important ones... Shining above all the rest - the sports car icon, the new , or let’s say the freshly revised Porsche 911. The second star in the Porsche skies is the long awaited Pajun, the little Panamera. The new Opel Astra stole the show at the Opel stand, both the coupé and the station wagon models were real eyecatchers. Jaguar now enters the SUV segment. Here the new Jaguar F-Pace. At Mercedes the four-seater S-Class convertible came as a true surprize. Another huge surprise was the Concept IAA – a research vehicle with loads of aerodynamic improvements and a drag coefficient of only 0.19.Something else truly new, what we have been waiting for – the new C Coupé. Mercedes‘ in house tuning division, AMG shows off the AMG GT3 and other AMG models. Smart opens up its ForTwo . Here’s the Smart Cabrio. Seat peps up the little sports car, its Ibiza Coupé. Skoda extends the model range of its Skoda Rapid Spaceback with the ScoutLine. What’s more, the Czech company highlights a special edition of the Octavia RS. The Skoda Superb station wagon rounds off the Super series. At Kia we are treated to the new 2016 Sportage. Also a newly build car – the new Optima. The third new car at the Kia stand is the European top seller, the Kia Cee’d. Hyundai showcases its concept car, the RM15 along with the „Vision G“ concept, a beautiful concept coupé... Hyundai also brought along a sporty car to the Frankfurt show – the new generation of the i20 WRC. The i20 Active catches the eye with its all round tough offroad black body cladding. Hard to believe, but Toyota is actually already presenting the Prius 4! Also on the Toyota stage, the study called C-HR, a look at the soon-to-come little SUV... The fourth generation of the Lexus RX celebrates its European premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Also quite a sensation Bentley’s first SUV, which goes by the name of Bentayga. Subaru launches an entirely new model, the Subaru Levorg. Mazda brings its study the Koeru and its new MX5 to Frankfurt. Peugeot flexes its muscles once again with the 308 GTi and its study the Fractal... Citroën’s contributions to the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show include the revised DS 4 as well as the DS 4 Crossback. Also in the limelight at the Citroen stand, the Cactus M, reminiscent of the legendary Mehari... At Audi everything revolves around the new Audi A4 and the Audi Q6 study, the E-Tron Quattro Concept... Suzuki revives the Baleno.... and Alfa Romeo makes an attempt to let the brand shine once again with the Giulia ... technology comes from Fiat and a bit lacking in new ideas... BMW spotlights the 585 horsepower M6 GT3 with a proud pricetag of 379 thousand Euros. Alongside that, on center stage, is the new 7 Series BMW, one we had hoped would pack a much bigger punch, but it’s the same old executive class ... The M3, on the other hand, has a much more promising character... Mini brings us the brand new Clubman. Borgward has finally unveiled it’s long announced SUV... Renault launches the Talisman as the successor to the Laguna. In 2016 it will come out as a coupé-sedan and also as a station wagon model. Volkswagen has treated the Golf convertible to a facelift and the VW T6 bus is absolutely new. The same goes for the VW Tiguan, which, after 13 years of construction finally appears in its second edition . Based on the success of the all –track models there’s now a Caddy Alltrack.. Bugatti gives us a look at the next Bugatti Chiron, as a Vision GT for the Sony Playstation.. Chevrolet has revised the sixth generation of the Camarao, presenting the coupe and the convertible models. At Lamborghini the spotlight is on the Huracan Spyder and a powerful version of the Lamborghini Aventador SV. Rolls Royce unveils a new convertible, the Rolls Royce Dawn. Ferrari finally brings us the open-top 488 Spider!
