A tragic road accident occurred near *Amritsar* around *12 noon today**, leaving two young men dead on the spot. The incident took place on the **Majitha–Amritsar to Fatehgarh Churian main road**, near the **Nag Nawe village bus stand**, when a **speeding mini bus* hit a motorcycle carrying two youths. The impact was so severe that both riders died instantly. According to information from the scene, the deceased have been identified as *Pradeep Kumar (23)**, son of **Lallan Ram**, and **Abhi Kumar (24)**, son of **Gurmeet Singh Meeta**, both residents of **Indira Colony, Verka**. The two were riding a **Splendor motorcycle* from Amritsar towards Majitha when a speeding mini bus coming from behind rammed into them near Nag Nawe bus stand. The collision dragged both victims several feet on the road, resulting in their *instant death**. Police from **Majitha Police Station* reached the spot soon after being informed and took possession of the bodies, which were then sent to *Amritsar for post-mortem**. The **damaged motorcycle* was also seized from the accident site. Upon hearing the news, the victims’ family members rushed to the spot and broke down in grief. Relatives said that both young men were the *sole breadwinners of their families* and had left home that morning for work as usual. Police have registered a *case against the mini bus driver* based on statements from the victims’ families. A *manhunt has been launched* to arrest the driver, and an investigation is underway to determine the **exact cause of the accident**. This tragic incident has once again raised serious *questions about road safety* in the region.
