On the afternoon of February 25th (the 9th day of the Lunar New Year), thousands of locals and tourists flocked to the streets of Binh Duong ward, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong province) to immerse themselves in the sacred and vibrant atmosphere of the procession of the Goddess Thien Hau's palanquin. At exactly 4 PM, the procession of the Goddess Thien Hau's palanquin officially began and lasted until 7 PM. The majestic palanquin was escorted by beautiful flower-carrying girls. Following behind were "fairy boys and girls" - children of the Chinese community in Ho Chi Minh City. They distributed blessings to the Goddess to tourists and locals attending the procession. The procession also included dozens of lion and dragon dance troupes performing skillful dances to the lively sounds of traditional Vietnamese music along the route, creating a cultural and artistic space that was both sacred and colorful. Along both sides of the road, crowds of people performing the rituals streamed in. Among them were many workers from provinces and cities who had just returned to the city after the Tet holiday. They sincerely prayed for a new year with stable jobs, good income, and a peaceful life.
