August 20th Sunday 2017 9:30 am- 6:30 pm Join Humboldt Patient Resource Center for our Celebrate Women of Cannabis Conference at the Arcata Community Center in Arcata. Open to men, women, and children this educational event is packed with expert speakers and a great networking opportunity! This Grow Sisters video introduces the women behind the scenes of the Celebrate Women of Cannabis Conference 2017. Katie Jones is the Administrative Director of UpNorth Humboldt - a nonprofit collective on a mission to provide patients with greater access to premiere craft cannabis products. Katie joined the UpNorth team to help facilitate events such as our Women's Conference as well as create relationships and connections with the Humboldt Cannabis Community. UpNorth's goal is to support, market, and represent local farmers; as a company, we aim to show why the Emerald Triangle produces the very best cannabis products found anywhere.  Naomi Atkinson, manager of the women’s division at HPRC (Humboldt Patient Resource Center ) Atkinson works closely with the Women Cultivating Community (WCC), a group of women cultivators and product makers. HPRC helps WCC members and their products reach more patients in larger markets through events like the Emerald Cup just north of the Bay Area, and the Emerald Exchange in Los Angeles. Women and products for women have been underrepresented in the cannabis industry, as Jurkovich observed, and the WCC and HPRC are working to change that.
