Sacrificing Cool for Reliability: 1940 Mercury Engine Work

This time at the Quick Speed Shop I'm sacrificing cool for reliability on my 1940 Mercury custom. The 350 under the hood sure looks good with a 3 deuce setup and custom valve covers, but it runs like junk. This car was built over 25 years ago and a lot of the mechanicals are just plain old at this point, even if they don't have a lot of life on them. Case in point, the carburetors. These three Rochester 2-jets all leak, run kind of rough, and are an overall mess. So the best thing is to remove the 3 twos and replace them with a single 4 bbl intake and carb.
