McClellan Park Hit & Run

This accident was caused by the driver of the Chrysler Sea-bring 5LKK636 violating one or more of the following California Vehicle Codes 21658(a), 22107 and 22100(b). Laned Roadways V.C.-21658. Whenever any roadway has been divided into two or more clearly marked lanes for traffic in one direction, the following rules apply: (a) A vehicle shall be driven as nearly as practical entirely within a single lane and shall not be moved from the lane until such movement can be made with reasonable safety. and California Vehicle Code 22107: Turning Movements and Required Signals V.C.-22107. No person shall turn a vehicle from a direct course or move right or left upon a roadway until such movement can be made with reasonable safety and then only after the giving of an appropriate signal in the manner provided in this chapter in the event any other vehicle may be affected by the movement. 22100(b). Except as provided in Section 22100.5 or 22101, the driver of any vehicle intending to turn upon a highway shall do so as follows: (b) Left Turns. The approach for a left turn shall be made as close as practicable to the left-hand edge of the extreme left-hand lane or portion of the roadway lawfully available to traffic moving in the direction of travel of the vehicle and, when turning at an intersection, the left turn shall not be made before entering the intersection. After entering the intersection, the left turn shall be made so as to leave the intersection in a lane lawfully available to traffic moving in that direction upon the roadway being entered, except that upon a highway having three marked lanes for traffic moving in one direction that terminates at an intersecting highway accommodating traffic in both directions, the driver of a vehicle in the middle lane may turn left into any lane lawfully available to traffic moving in that direction upon the roadway being entered. On October 13, 2015, I was headed Northbound on Arnold Ave. @ McClellan Park, California when I got to Palm Ave. @ McClellan Park, California I made a left turn onto Palm Ave headed West Bound. I traveled West Bound to Dudley Blvd. @ McClellan Park, California in the right hand left turn lane to turn left to head South on Dudley Blvd. @ McClellan Park. As I made my left turn with another vehicle in the left turn lane to the left of my vehicle the vehicle to the left of me began to change lanes before the left turn had been completed. The vehicle license plate number 5LKK636 collided with the left front corner of my vehicle hard enough that I believed both our vehicles had been damaged. Instead of stopping to check for damage the vehicle continued South Bound on Dudley Blvd. @ McClellan Park. The vehicle license plate number 5LKK636 made a right turn onto Peacekeeper Way @ McClellan Park, California headed West Bound. When the vehicle license plate number 5LKK636 reached Luce Ave. @ McClellan Park. California it made a left turn and onto Luce Ave. @ McClellan Park, California. Upon parking nearby the driver a female approximately 50 years old exited her vehicle and started walking off at a quick pace. I parked nearby as well exited my vehicle and although I felt the impact along the driver side of my vehicle forward I noticed damage right away at the front left corner and side of the front fender of my vehicle. The female driver of the vehicle license plate number 5LKK636 turned around and asked me what I was doing. I told her she collided with my vehicle and I was checking for damage. As she walked toward me she was argumentative/hostile and denied ever making any contact with my vehicle. I approached her vehicle to check for damage on her vehicle and she got between myself and her vehicle in an effort to prevent viewing of her vehicle and arguing the hole time that she did not hit my vehicle. I asked for her insurance information and she refused to provide her insurance information and continued to hostilely argue that she did not hit my vehicle. I was unable to fully inspect her vehicle as she had become increasingly agitated argumentative and hostile and as I went to take a photograph of her license plate I noticed damage along the right rear side of the bumper of her vehicle. As I was trying to take a photograph of the damage on her vehicle she jumped between myself and her vehicle and said she was calling the cops. She placed what I believed to be a fake call pretending to call the police as she was just talking about nothing related to the accident nor answering any questions law enforcement ask when you call them, in an effort to avoid a violent confrontation I went to the rear of her vehicle to photograph her vehicle license plate where again she tried preventing myself from taking a photograph. After a number of attempts I was able to photograph her license plate and told her I would report the incident to my insurance company.
