Bihar Polls: LJP, CPIML Flex Muscles Over Seat-Sharing; Alliances On Edge | Bihar Elections 2025

The dates for the Bihar Assembly elections have been announced, with polling to be held in two phases on November 6th and 11th, and results declared on November 14th. Ahead of the polls for 243 seats, negotiations within political alliances are strained. In one camp, LJP sources indicate the party is aiming for 45 to 54 seats to strengthen Chirag Paswan's leadership and will not accept an offer of 20-22 seats. The party is also reportedly open to an alliance with Prashant Kishor. In the Mahagatbandhan, the CPIML is reportedly unhappy with the RJD's offer of 19 seats and plans to submit a proposal for 30. Sources claim that if the CPIML does not receive a respectable share, 'The party is open to all options'.
