Pro-democracy demonstrations in Serbia and geopolitical stakes

Serbia is currently facing a wave of pro-democracy demonstrations. Maja Bjelos, research fellow at the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy, looks back at these movements, analysing in particular how the government instrumentalizes Kosovo's current tensions and in what way it represents a risk of overshadowing the protests. She also explains how the European Union could and should play a diplomatic role in easing tensions between the two countries.
