#248. Resin Art Cabochons Using HOME MADE MICA Inks! In todays Resin Art video we 'Crack' a brand new resin art technique but this time, we try mica powder inks! If you haven't seen the previous video, be sure to check it out as there may also be answers to some questions you may have. I think these resin pieces came out amazingly! The colors are stunning and the bands really make them look like natural Tugtupite which is a rare gem from Greenland! This is by far my favorite resin technique to date! Ok, now for the disclaimer! Isopropyl alcohol is extremely flammable! NO FLAMES OR TORCHES! NO SOURCES OF IGNITION! Isopropyl can self ignite but it requires a temperature of 400C/750F, UV resin can get hot whilst curing (not as hot as the isopropyl needs to be to self ignite) however, Isopropyl fumes can ignite if there are any sources of ignition near by, I do not know which lamps you are using or if they may have breaks in the wires (source of ignition).... for this, I am advising not to try this experiment at home!
