Welcome to my DIY Custom built Monitor Mount video! This video can be used as an idea to help you build your own monitor mount for custom size screens. I had issues trying to find a monitor mount that could hold a 49" Super Ultrawide and a 43" TV / Monitor. So I built my own. Weight is the most important issue when designing your own monitor mount, I tend to over build and reinforce anything I do custom, So feel free to use my recommendations but most of all be safe and test things thoroughly before placing monitors on permanently. Here is a list of the products used. • 1x VESA mount plate (you can grab this online or salvage it from an old stand) • 1x Wooden or Aluminium arm, I’m using 40/80 Aluminium Extrusion due to my experience with my sim rig monitor mounts – its strong and easy to work with. Length will vary depending on your monitor size. As I mounted a 49 inch AOC and a 43 Inch Aorus Monitor, I needed a 1.2mtr piece of Aluminium Extrusion. • Another 20cm piece of Aluminium extrusion. • 16 Bolts, 16 T-Nuts and 6 Right-Angle Brackets to suit 40/80 • Allen keys or Hex Keys • Optional: cable management clips or Velcro straps • Some type of desk mount with screw on bracket for the table ( I would recommend a 2 x screw bracket) – I was lucky as I had a Vision mount Dual arm desk mount which bolted straight onto the aluminium extrusion.
