It tells the story of a young boy in Nazi Germany whose worldview is challenged when he discovers his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their home. I was completely blown away by how funny and emotional this movie is. The humor is absurd but sharp, the performances are outstanding, and the story is surprisingly heartfelt. Jojo’s growth, Rosie’s courage, and the way the film balances comedy with tragedy made me laugh and cry.
