The Lyriden meteor shower will peak on April 22nd. Under optimal conditions, around 18 shooting stars can be seen per hour. This year, however, the light of the bright moon interferes with the observation. At my location in the district of Oldenburg, the heavy clouds were also a nuisance. But fortunately it cleared up enough that I could see at least a few meteors. There was also a halo around the moon. This occurs when the light of the moon hits ice crystals. Dieses Jahr stört aber das Licht des hellen Mondes die Beobachtung. An meinem Standort im Landkreis Oldenburg störte zudem die starke Bewölkung. Aber es klarte zwischendurch zum Glück immer mal wieder soweit auf, dass ich wenigstens ein paar Meteore sehen konnte. Außerdem zeigte sich ein Halo um den Mond.
