I'm right here in the channel content section of my YouTube Studio, and I have a demo video prepared for this tutorial. To get started, we're going to click on the pen icon for details. This opens up the video details page for the selected video. Before I started recording this video, I created a demo thumbnail using Canva. Here, I have a very simple thumbnail titled "Autograph Genres AG." It's just a basic design for demo purposes. Now that we're on the video details page, all we need to do to upload the thumbnail is click the "Upload File" button. This option is located right next to the default thumbnail options provided by YouTube. Once you click "Upload File," select the custom thumbnail file you've created. For this example, I’m selecting the thumbnail I generated through Canva. Keep in mind that YouTube has specific requirements for thumbnails. The maximum file size allowed is 2 MB, and it's best to ensure your thumbnail is high definition and matches YouTube’s recommended dimensions of 1280x720 pixels. After the file is uploaded, you'll see a preview of the thumbnail in the thumbnail section of the video details page. Now, click "Save" at the top-right corner of the screen to apply the changes. And that's it! Your custom thumbnail has been successfully added to the video. To confirm, you can go back to the content section of YouTube Studio and see the thumbnail applied to your video in the list. It’s a super simple process and a great way to enhance your videos and make them more visually appealing. Custom thumbnails help you stand out and attract viewers. Give it a try on your videos!
