NOC 2021 replaces the classification’s current Skill Type and Level structure with Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities (TEER) required for entry in an occupation. This new terminology is more precise, as the NOC assesses not the level of skills but the level of training, of formal education, of experience required to gain entry into each occupation, and the responsibilities associated with it. New applicants: If you plan to submit an Express Entry profile on or after November 16, 2022, you must submit your TEER Category and 5-digit occupation code when filling out your profile. Not received ITA: If you have already submitted a profile, but have not been sent an invitation to apply (ITA), you must update your profile with your TEER Category and 5-digit occupation code. To remain eligible to receive an ITA, your profile must be updated on or after November 16, 2022.
