On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic proudly celebrates the women who choose science as a pathway to shape the future. According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), women represent 33.3% of researchers globally, and 35% of students in STEM fields are women. In Morocco, women account for approximately 34% of researchers in higher education. While progress continues, these figures remind us that advancing gender equality in science remains a global priority. At UM6P, this commitment takes on a concrete dimension. Today, 843 women are engaged in research at the University, as faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, and PhD students. Through their expertise, dedication, and vision, they actively contribute to advancing knowledge and driving innovation across disciplines. Yet science is more than statistics. It is about curiosity sparked, confidence nurtured, and ambition supported. It is about creating an environment where bold questions are encouraged and where research contributes meaningfully to society. Through a series of testimonies, this video highlights the journeys of women scientists at UM6P, what inspired them to pursue science, how the University supports their research paths, and the impact they strive to create for Morocco, Africa, and beyond. Empowering women. Advancing science. Shaping the future.
