A practical look at what BIM, automation, and repeatable workflows look like at real scale, across countries and teams. Courtesy of Enrico Castarello, BIM Manager at Basic-Fit. If you’ve seen our Reality Check-In with Enrico from INTERGEO 2025 (Frankfurt), you’ll recognize the scale he’s working at: around 1,700 clubs across Benelux, France, Germany, and Spain, with expansion still underway, plus a significant program to rebuild and update existing clubs. In this booth presentation, Enrico shares how Basic-Fit manages delivery across hundreds of clubs, including: Scanning every new location as a standard starting point Basic-Fit operates around 11 dynamic NavVis laser scanners across Europe, and scanning begins as soon as a location is identified. Building centralized 3D models to support design and coordination A dedicated modeling team in the Netherlands produces the 3D models centrally, which are then shared across teams and contractors. Using automation and internally developed AI to speed up design and checks The team uses Dynamo scripting and internal AI tools to automate objective checks and generate multiple layout options in seconds. Extracting quantities from models for cost control Quantities are pulled directly from the 3D model and transferred into Excel via Power Query to support estimating and consistency. Rescanning completed clubs to support operations After construction, clubs are rescanned to collect data for asset management, maintenance, and future portfolio consolidation.
