We're still in a CRPG where we control Arle, an apprentice magician, a teenager this time, who must escape from her best friend, Rulue, who has set her Minotaur after us through a misunderstanding—quite a misunderstanding, given what's happening. We then flee and land in a forest before encountering a first series of mazes, then a second, and then the final battle. Madou 3 is really the best for last, in terms of difficulty at least. Thus, the game is divided into three parts with Bosses, Dragons and many hidden rooms. It is very long but also very hard, too hard I would even say because until now, the secret rooms hid optional bonuses but now, we sometimes find quest objects there so we can no longer miss them and sometimes it is annoying and long to find so ultimately it superficially inflates the lifespan. Finally, the difficulty is completely abused, at the turn of a corridor, you can just come across an enemy 10 times stronger than you and if you do not know the license, do not start with that one. Finally, it is a good way to end the trilogy and the best version there is for this title also existing on MSX and Game Gear. The game is beautiful, the soundtrack is impeccable with digitized voices, and the title is perfectly ergonomic—well, if you accept the basic concept where XP/MP are never displayed on screen ;) From the day I discovered the PC-98 and its game library, I've wanted to play this game, and thanks to the recent translation by SnowyAria & Yuvi, I now have.
