Have you ever noticed how worries seem to grow in the middle of the night? Problems that feel manageable during the day can suddenly feel overwhelming when our minds start racing about the future. In this week’s sermon, Pastor Will reflects on how easily we let fear about tomorrow shape the way we see today. Looking at the story of God providing manna for the Israelites in the wilderness and Jesus feeding the five thousand, Pastor Will reminds us of a powerful truth: scarcity lives in tomorrow, but God’s abundance is found in the present. When the Israelites feared there wouldn’t be enough food, God gave them manna each day—just enough for that moment—teaching them to trust Him daily rather than storing up out of fear for the future. The same lesson appears in the Gospel when the disciples worry about feeding a crowd of thousands with only five loaves of bread and two fish. While the disciples see a problem that cannot possibly be solved, Jesus takes what little is available, gives thanks, and turns it into more than enough for everyone. This message reminds us that we often live like the disciples—focused on what might go wrong tomorrow. But the Gospel draws us back to the present, where Christ is already at work. In Jesus’ hands, even the smallest offering becomes abundance. Pastor Will encourages us to trust that the same God who fed Israel in the wilderness and the same Christ who fed the hungry crowd is still present with us today. The promise of faith is not that we will control the future, but that Christ will be with us when tomorrow comes. Because when Jesus Christ is present today, we do not have to fear tomorrow. 🙏 Thanks for joining us in worship. You are always welcome here.
