Most trade show booths are completely forgettable. And the problem is not always the budget. In my experience attending and exhibiting at international trade shows across Hong Kong, Germany, the UK and the United States, the real issue is often how companies choose to show up. Many suppliers believe that simply attending a trade show is enough. After all, the investment is already huge... booth space, travel, shipping products, staff accommodation. But from the perspective of a buyer walking down the aisles, something very different is happening. They are surrounded by hundreds of booths that look almost identical. And when everything looks the same… the brain simply tunes out. In this video I share some reflections from my own experience exhibiting at trade shows around the world, including the mistakes I made when I first started, and why booth design, energy, presentation and small details can make the difference between being ignored… and being remembered. Because ultimately the goal of a trade show is not just to show up. It is to start relationships.
