It's fun to add a touch of color to a T-shirt or accessory when you use fabric spray paint. In this demo, we'll show you how easy it is to apply, and give you some quick tips for success. SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/SubscribeMichaelsStores (0:10) Step 1 - Start with a set of fabric spray paints, a covered work surface and the object of your choice. Make sure it is a natural blend fabric as synthetic fibers do not absorb paint as well. (0:14) Step 2 - Wash and dry your item before painting. Do not use fabric softener! (0:19) Step 3 - For a fun tie-dye look, you can fold or twist a t-shirt. Start in the middle of the shirt and twist until the whole shirt is one big ball of material. Test the applicator on a paper towel. Spray your desired colors onto different sections of the shirt. Allow paint to dry for 5 minutes and then unfold. (1:09) Step 4 - Another fun way to use fabric spray paint is to use a stencil. Tape all four sides of the stencil down onto your object. To protect the rest of the object, mask it with paper on all sides of the stencil. Test the applicator on a paper towel. Spray away! Gently remove the stencil. (1:29) Step 5 - Try spraying closer for a denser color and farther away for a lighter colored look. (1:34) Step 6 - Soak the tips of your paints in warm water to keep them clean.
