Born in Calcutta, British India, he made significant contributions to the Bengali, Hindi, and Oriya music industries. He composed for numerous films, particularly in Bengali cinema, and became well-known for his versatile work in various genres. Some of his notable films include Boudir Bon, Pather Sheshey, and Mouchak. Ghosh passed away in 1976 at the age of 51, but his legacy as a prominent music director in the Indian film industry remains influential.
