The Box of Delights (BBC1984) has been a childhood favourite of mine for many years and the title music has always been incredibly haunting with the end credits being immensely thrilling! Here I analyse how the title music works. The music is from a 1927 piece by Victor Hely-Hutchinson called A Carol Symphony and the incidental music is by Roger Limb of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop (who contributed much excellent music to Doctor Who in the classic era).
