Recently I booked a trip to Roatan 7 days before I flew. It wasn’t my normal flight route to get there but as a budget traveler I made it work. Around May of last year many airlines added a fee for carry on luggage which was my only method of packing. Since I was going to a hot and humid destination I told the airlines (in my mind) to “Suck it” and packed in a back pack that would fit under the seat in their measurement guidelines for a “personal item”. No problem. This wasn’t even a challenge. I probably over packed. However, I saved money that I could use towards one more day of scuba diving. I am a budget traveler after all and we all have our priorities. How often do you travel somewhere and don’t use half of what you brought? Me too.
