About the Course: For the past century and a half, America’s colonial-period buildings have inspired countless architectural designs. With numerous illustrations, this class will explain the rationale of many of the forms and details that give character to colonial works, both northern and southern. Emphasis will be placed on domestic architecture, demonstrating how their design features, when properly applied, can serve to enhance literate, if not creative, contemporary modern versions.
